BALKANARAMA featuring Tantz live
The closing night of Leeds International Festival will feature a huge night of global beats, as a little piece of Eastern Europe lands in the centre of Leeds.
Having hosted huge nights in Glasgow and Edinburgh for over a decade, “Balkanarama” features the finest Balkan beats, klezmer and gypsy jazz bands, as well as a massive live headlining slot from TANTZ, alongside Balkanarama DJs and dancers.
Initially formed in Leeds, TANTZ will have the warmth of a homecoming crowd. They dropped their banging debut album “Voytek The Bear” in 2016 – fresh for 2018 comes new single “Meshugah”, and their UK tour. If you know TANTZ you know how crazy this will be – if not, get ready for a maelstrom of all-singing all-dancing madness!
A jam session will warm up the night, from a selection of Balkanarama musicians and DJS, before the one and only TANTZ appear – the finest turbo-klezmer and gypsy sounds this side of the Carpathian mountains!
This is the first time “Balkanarama” has hit Leeds – in fact, it’s probably the first time any Balkan beats party has hit the city. Come down and see what the noise is about.
