Tampon Tax? No bloody way! Bloody Big Brunch is a social action campaign taking place across the UK, addressing period poverty.
In association with Women’s March Leeds, Bloody Big Brunch will bring awareness to the issue on 26th May, 11:00-14:00, where you can get yourself a free Bloody Mary (or Virgin Mary) at Cafe 164, by donating period products. Donations will be distributed by Hey Girls, a charity created to provide sanitary products for women and girls living in poverty.
But why is sanitary support for periods needed? Who is affected? Why is it still such a big issue for women and girls in the UK? This teaser event will explore the problems of period poverty and women’s rights in the UK.
So come down to in the L19 Discovery Zone on 2nd, bring your packed lunch and listen to our thought-provoking panel to explore the concepts behind Bloody Big Brunch, and the activists moving to banish Tampon Tax. Period.
Donation points for period products will be available at this event too.
