Sunday 29 April
House Gospel Choir House music classics given the gospel treatment
House music is “church for people that have fallen from grace”. That’s what the late great Frankie Knuckles once said – and that’s what inspired the House Gospel Choir. Anyone who has ever been caught up in a true house classic can attest to its awesome group power – to unify, to enliven, to uplift.
The House Gospel Choir are a group that brings together outstanding singers, all passionate about music and performance and dedicated to giving a great show. They have a history of working with homegrown and international talent having been a part of sessions and live performances with: The Kooks, Annie Mac, Candi Staton, John Cale, Riton, MNEK, Tom Jones, Beverley Knight, Kwabs, Jessie Ware, Loyle Carner, Ghetts, Birdy, Gregory Porter, Stormzy, Labrinth, Gorgon City, Honne, Rhys Lewis & Katy B, to name a few!
We can’t all speak at the same time and have our voices heard but we can sing together as one voice and be understood.
This event will see the choir filling Millennium Square’s Spiegeltent with their uplifting, gospel-inspired take on house classics.
