Language and arts work together to form the rich tapestry of our cultural realities.

The Value of the Arts in a Multilingual Society brings together the creative arts, languages and ESOL to showcase, through a number of talks, projects which explore the conjunction of languages and the arts in the fields of visual art, gallery collections, theatre and film.

The event highlights ways in which language and the arts entwine, enriching conversations across the wider community. It also offers those working in the arts, who are interested in themes of language and multilingualism, the opportunity to connect with researchers and third sector organisations, in order to develop new work and ideas.

As part of the event, the digital exhibition Visual Representations of Multilingualism will be shown, which highlights the work of artists working with languages.
