Yo La Tengo Live at Church Leeds
Yo La Tengo (YLT) are a beloved American indie rock band who’ve been playing for nearly thirty years. Formed in Hoboken, New Jersey by couple Ira Kaplan and Georgia Hubley, other members have come and gone. Since 1992, the line up has included James McNew.
They’ve played some of the world’s best venues, from concert halls to museums, and have been critically acclaimed throughout. Their music has been diverse over three decades; they’ve explored everything from extreme feedback-raging noise rock to gentle, quiet pop, playing the Velvet Underground in I Shot Andy Warhol and collaborating with Yoko Ono along the way.
March 16 will see the release of There’s a Riot Going On, their first original, full-length release since 2013. Their teaser trailer, already released, features four songs – “You Are Here,” “Shades of Blue,” “She May, She Might” and “Out of the Pool.”
This Church date is right in the middle of their four-month tour, one of five concerts in the UK and Ireland.
