Conversation, connection and curiosity: Yotam Ottolenghi, David Olusoga and Lara Lewington announced for LIFI
We’re back! LIFI is set to return this September, when we’ll be welcoming big names, embracing new perspectives and tackling some of the most crucial questions of our time.
With our core focus on ideas firmly established and an exciting year ahead, we’re excited to reveal the first details of this year’s festival. Running from September 22nd until 25th, the 2022 events will take place in the Howard Assembly Room and Howard Opera Centre, with the New Briggate location forming a central hub for all festival goings-on.
So without further ado, we’re pleased to announce that our first three guests are British-Nigerian historian and broadcaster David Olusoga OBE; acclaimed chef, restaurateur and food writer Yotam Ottolenghi; and TV presenter and journalist Lara Lewington.
These initial speakers offer a glimpse into the diverse perspectives set to be showcased throughout the festival. Working in partnership with Opera North, Bruntwood and Weightmans, we’re planning a programme filled with today’s most pressing topics, questions and opinions.
Themes will range from mental health, sports and social justice and climate inequality to comedy, the metaverse and what’s acceptable to laugh about. It all means there’ll be no shortage of thought-provoking discussions and healthy debate.
The full programme will be released as tickets go on sale on April 26th, making this a really exciting moment for LIFI, as it prepares to come back bigger than ever for 2022. You’ll be able to explore the line-up and buy your tickets here.
