Drawing families in from miles around, this fun day entertained kids (and adults!) of all ages. Music, dance, science experiments, and virtual reality were just some of the experiences on offer.
Family Day saw several events united to provide a day of excitement for younger Leeds International Festival guests. Fascinating science experiments and hands-on and creative workshops filled little minds with wonder.
Eureka! the National Children’s Museum looked skywards, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon, and the Conductor experience got visitors donning a virtual reality headset to bring a forest of trees to life.
Hands-on activities included making a fridge magnet or pendant with Plastic is Fantastic, decorating a honeycomb hexagon with Bloom! York’s Bee Story workshop, and African drumming time with Khula Arts.
Charanga del Norte provided infectious Latin tunes to get everyone moving while Boomchikkaboom ended the day perfectly with their high-energy family rave and foam extravaganza!
