Roger Nickells

Roger has been able to combine his fascination of how civic society evolves with a professional career that includes creating solutions to all sorts of complex city and infrastructure challenges. With a portfolio that includes some of the most recognisable buildings and city developments in the world, he has a global perspective that brings an extra something to any project he is involved with.

Roger has been lucky to work with many visionary clients and their teams to improve the impact cities can have on the wellbeing and social equity of their users, however transient they may be. Roger sees Engineers as the people who can provide a link between science and society and this forms the backbone of his teams’ work.

Leeds played a big part in the early development of his career and he was particularly delighted to be able to take part in the recent regeneration of the Hyde Park Picture House, which was an epicentre of the student community back then, and now about to become a major part of the next evolution of that community neighbourhood. Roger is looking forward to coming back to see how the refurbishment of this Leeds’ landmark has brought it back to life.
