#LIFI25: First Speakers + dates

We are pleased to reveal the first three speakers for the highly anticipated 2025 programme. Returning to Leeds Playhouse from 14–18 October 2025, this year’s festival promises to be its boldest yet, bringing together over 40 influential voices to spark fresh conversations across culture, politics, identity, and innovation.
The first wave of speakers includes global cultural icon Chuck D, multi-talented broadcaster and campaigner Myleene Klass MBE, and etiquette expert and bestselling author William Hanson.
Chuck D (pictured above), the legendary founder of Public Enemy, is renowned for his powerful voice on issues of race, activism, and social justice. He brings decades of thought leadership and cultural influence to the LIFI stage.
Myleene Klass MBE will lead a deeply personal and powerful conversation around women’s health and societal taboos, following her successful campaigning on miscarriage policy.
William Hanson, the UK’s foremost etiquette authority and co-host of the hit podcast Help I Sexted My Boss, will provide a sharp, witty take on class, modern manners, and the strange rules that govern society.
LIFI25 also unveils a fresh new visual identity, giving the festival a bold and modern new look ahead of its most wide-reaching edition yet.
Festival Director Martin Dickson says:
“These three incredible voices each represent the kind of bold, diverse and thought-provoking conversations we’re proud to platform at LIFI. With over 40 speakers to be announced, this year’s programme will challenge ideas, spark curiosity, and inspire real change.”
The full line-up will be announced on 17 June 2025, covering themes from political systems and culture wars to health, class, motherhood and resilience.
