Dr Sharma is Director of the Breast Screening Programme for Leeds and Wakefield, clinical advisor to NHS England and a pioneer in using artificial intelligence (AI) in patient care.
Currently chief investigator for the UK’s first breast screening trial to incorporate AI in the film reading process, Dr Sharma has been involved in updating breast screening and symptomatic guidelines at a national level.
